A 10-time GRAMMY Award-winning superstar whose legendary catalogue includes worldwide hits spanning pop, soul, classical, gospel, funk and jazz, Chaka Khan will take to the stage at the best club in the world, Hï Ibiza, in one month's time.

Following her world tour celebrating 50 years of Chaka Khan, which began in 2023, this very special performance is one for the history books.

Glitterbox’s critically acclaimed party at Hï Ibiza is the perfect setting for Chaka, not only sonically with its broad range of genres lining up perfectly with the ‘Ain’t Nobody’ chanteur, but also due to the party’s wildly inclusive atmosphere and sparkling roster of dancers and performers.

Joining this legendary diva on the line-up is Melvo Baptiste, Natasha Diggs, Tedd Patterson, Todd Terry, Floorplan, Jamie 3:26, Sam Karlson and Dave Lee (JN). Browse the full line-up and book tickets for Glitterbox's Ibiza season on the Hï Ibiza website now.

A Windy City native, Chaka’s career began in one of the most culturally relevant cities in the world for electronic music with the band Ask Rufus, then becoming the massively successful GRAMMY Award-winning band Rufus. To this day she is a proud ambassador for Chicago: the street ‘Chaka Khan Way’ was named in 2014, and her Glitterbox performance on 14th July comes just two weeks before ‘Chaka Khan Day’ on 28th July.

With hundreds of releases in her illustrious discography, earning 22 GRAMMY nominations for tracks like ‘I Feel For You’, ‘I’ll Be Good To You’ and ‘What’s Going On’, and working with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones, Ashford & Simpson and Fantasia Burrino, it was her seminal 1978 release ‘I’m Every Woman’ that is most known around the world, helping to cement Chaka Khan as an international household name.

The everlasting record is an empowering anthem for the modern world, one that continues to inspire well into the 21st Century. Her philanthropy extended well past her sound, as at the turn of the millennium she established the Chaka Khan Foundation, a charity funding projects that support women and children at risk.

Through it all, Chaka’s status as a pop culture icon has endured, with the 2020s seeing appearances on cult tv show RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Masked Singer, the American Idol finale, then ranked at 29 on Rolling Stone’s 200 Greatest Singers of All Time in 2023, and most recently releasing an NPR Tiny Desk concert celebrating Black Music Month.

Chaka Khan’s music and iconography inspire her LGBTQ+ fans particularly, whom she often describes as her “most loyal”. Every year during June, Billboard recognises ‘I’m Every Woman’ as one of the best LGBTQ+ anthems in the world, placing it in the top 10 in 2022.

But what is it that draws the queer community to Chaka?

Her soaring vocals, her refusal to be “boxed in” to one genre or category, her philanthropy, her endearing candidness and power to speak her mind - especially in regard to important topics from women’s rights to addiction. All of these elements, and more, come together to paint a picture of a legend whose legacy will endure forever:

My journey was necessary – it had to happen so I could come out like I am right now.”Chaka Khan in The Independent [11th June 2024]
