With this years’ lineup our biggest yet we wanted to introduce you to the incredible artists that will be supplying the soundtrack to your Sunday nights on the island…

This week we introduce you to German disco-house maestro Purple Disco Machine...

After rocking the opening party, Purple Disco Machine gave us a serious taste of what we can expect from him this season...

What are you most looking forward to about this summer in Ibiza?

I always enjoy the energy and the passion of the Glitterbox crowd in Ibiza so I’m looking forward to re-experiencing that. Plus being able to play in such a magnificent club like Hï Ibiza. And of course I have some new music to unleash!

How do you feel about being a resident for Glitterbox?

Very happy. For me it is the perfect residency. I can play what I like and know the crowd will appreciate it.

Who are you looking forward to playing alongside at the parties?

I enjoy playing with all the Glitterbox DJ’s. I’m simply happy to be on the line up.

What’s your fondest Ibiza memory?

Probably the first time I played Glitterbox at Space. Such an iconic club and so famous for House music. It was a bit of a dream come true.

What is your favourite thing to do on the island?

DJ – ing at Glitterbox of course!

What can we expect to hear in your sets this summer?

Plenty of Purple Disco Machine records and remixes, both old and new. Mixed in with cool new tracks from producers i’m digging, some oldies and rare funk, soul and disco edits

Catch Purple Disco Machine at Hï on 16th June, 25th August, 8th September, 15th September and 6th October.

Our next resident is Glitterbox royalty Dimitri From Paris...

Having played for the party since its beginnings at Booom, few people know Glitterbox as well as Dimitri, we caught up with him to pick his brains about the forthcoming season...

What are you most looking forward to about this summer in Ibiza?

I’ll be there for half of the entire season again, and I’m really looking forward to playing with all the new improvements, such as the upgraded sound, new booth, and the new stage at Hï. It’s now my 6th consecutive season, so I’m quite excited to see how the event will pan out with all the extra oomph that’s been packed into it.

How do you feel about being a resident for Glitterbox?

Being able to play a string of parties in a row is the best situation for me, as I can truly distil and fine tune my idea of the Glitterbox sound, week after week. Of course I’m extremely honoured to have been there from the very beginning of the Glitterbox adventure, to nurture and see this beautiful baby grow and blossom.

Who are you looking forward to playing alongside at the parties?

I’m particularly looking forward to the dates with Horse Meat Disco, Joey Negro and Armand Van Helden. Outside of the music side, we always have a good time geeking out on all kinds of subjects

What’s your fondest Ibiza memory?

I have to say I’m a little nostalgic of Glitterbox’s humble beginnings at now sadly gone Booom which was my favourite Ibiza club. It took time for the party to take off, but we had so much support with the local crowd that we really felt we were onto something. The night when India came to sing, was also particularly special.

What is your favourite thing to do on the island?

I unfortunately never get to stay very long, I however make it a point to find out a very quiet spot under the shade to and meditate before the storm of the night to come.

What can we expect to hear in your sets this summer?

I’ve been working on quite a few things to have them ready to be tested out this season. New edits, remixes of stone cold classics, new songs… all on the groovy  House and Disco tip with lots of flamboyance, so the whole club can get down along our absolutely fabulous dancers ! None of those will be out before some time, so people will be able to hear things at Glitterbox that won’t be played anywhere else.

Catch Dimitri at Hï on the 2nd June, 9th June, 23rd June, 21st July, 28th July, 8th September, 15th September, 29th September and 6th October. Tickets for all dates available here.

First up are Horse Meat Disco...

Horse Meat Disco are the DJ collective whose legendary status comes from humble beginnings, with their heralded club night and ‘queer night for everyone’ at The Eagle. Now the disco juggernauts join us for a summer of fun at Hï for this season. Expect exceptional selection and serious fun from their sets…
